Warren (Stacy's husband) in North Carolina

In the year 1998, the newly engaged couple, Warren and Stacy, embarked on a journey to North Carolina due to Warren's job opportunity. At that time, Warren worked as an accountant, and the firm he was employed at was looking for additional assistance for the winter season. The couple initially planned for a six-month stay in North Carolina. Warren's professional skills and the demand for additional support in the accounting firm paved the way for this temporary relocation

After receiving a job offer in Boston, Stacy and Warren arrived on Warren's visa. Soon the couple got married and was living In Boston full time.

During the initial 18 months of residing in Boston, Stacy found herself in a situation where she was unable to pursue any type of work due to her status on her husband's visa. As part of the immigration process to become a citizen in the United States, individuals are required to fulfill a residency requirement, typically living in the country for five consecutive years. However, the intricacies of life, including vacations and periodic returns to their home country of South Africa, extended the Suckermans' journey towards citizenship, ultimately spanning a period of seven years. They were official citizens between 2002 and 2003
