This painting was made in an attempt to answer the question: How can I show the overwhelming nature of envisioning the future? I decided to play with the concept of neural-pathways; as my own neural-pathways develop, so does the realization that there are so many different paths I could take moving forward in life— and that reality is a bit anxiety-inducing.
In this piece, the development of neural-pathways represents a metaphor for different pathways I can take as I grow up. The gold-leaf was used for emphasis, to depict a clear contrast between the backgrounds and the different paths.
