Amelia was born in 1966, in a very small city in Brazil. Her grandparents immigrated to Guanhães from Italy to start a big family.

Amelia was raised on a farm with her 10 siblings. She lived the stereotypical farm life, and even milked cows! They would wake up at 5 in the morning everyday to go to school. They usually had to walk for an hour, or ride horses to school.

Family

Amelia's family lived on a farm and valued helping others a lot. She remembers her mother always taking care of the neighbors when she was growing up. She also remebered her father teaching his children that the people who work on their farm are more than just workers, they are family.
