Can I come to the Library Commons from study hall, lunch, after school, before school, or anytime?
Yes. During the day you will need a pass from your teacher. You may stay and work on homework or read during study hall.
What do I need to do to check out library books?
Place holds in Destiny (up to 3 holds at a time) for books that are either in the library or currently checked out.
How do I get my library books (remote students)?
Library staff will email you when your books are ready to be picked up (within 48 hours if the book is on the shelf).
How many library books can I check out?
We ask that you only have 6 or fewer out at a time. Please know your limits for what you can be personally responsible for.
How long can I have the library books I checked out?
All book are checked out for 3 weeks.
How do I renew my library books?
Click on the renew button in Destiny. All books can be renewed 2 times (as long as no one else has a hold on it).
Why won't my library book renew in Destiny?
Only 2 possibilities. 1) someone else has a hold on it (time to finish up quickly and return the book), or 2) you have already renewed the book 2 times (feel free to email the library (jblair@kusd.edu) to ask for another renewal if you need a little more time to finish up).
Where do I return my library books
Throughout the day, outside the library is a container for book returns.
We will collect these containers of returned books each morning and place all books in quarantine. The books you return will remain on your account during the quarantine.
What if my book is past due?
Self-renew in Destiny so it is not past due! We do not charge overdue fines. We do want library books back so we can give them to the next person.
What if I lose or damage my book or other items?
Unfortunately, if you lose or badly damage a library book/item you will be responsible for the cost of it. (Do not check out books for other people, if they lose it or damage it the only person I will have on record for being responsible for it is YOU.) Lost or damaged book fines go to your Infinite Campus account if they are not rectified before the end of the school year.
