School Library 23/24 Additional Circulation Procedures
Students must sanitize upon entering the library in order to browse the collection and sanitize intermittently if utilizing maker activities.
Books may be in student possession but can not be shared between students.
Library Books will be returned to the return bin weekly on a students library day.
These are subject to change per updated district procedures.
Students will come to the library once a week for a detailed lesson. At this time they will be allowed to also check out books. However, the Pleasant Prairie Library has an Open Library policy in that students may come and exchange items any day or time during the school week.
Students may borrow books from the Pleasant Prairie Library. Each book checkout has a two week time period and they may renew each book once. Each media item has a one week time period and it may be renewed once also. Audio Books/Play Away have a one week loan period, a student must have parent permission slip on file in order to check out the Play Away. Notices for overdue books will be sent home at the end of each semester for all students. More notices may be sent home for individual needs.
Book Limits
4K students = 1 book
Kindergarten students = 2 books
Grades 1 - 5 students = 4 books
Any books that are lost by a student or damaged to the point that the item cannot be used again in the library will be assessed a replacement fee. The fee will be the cost listed in the catalog to replace the book. The librarian will assess fines and fees at the end of the school year or as needed. Late book notices will go out at the end of each quarter. All efforts to find the books will be made before fees are assessed.
