Mini Districts is an opportunity for members who have never competed or have not made it to State, to practice before the official Districts competition. Students will practice role plays in addition to a test. All members are encouraged to try the competition.
DECA students will participate in ELC activities throughout the two-day conference (FOCUS training, best practices, DECA Development for NEW DECA members, advanced leadership for chapter leaders and those considering leadership opportunities, and Kalahari Resort FREE TIME) This conference will help prepare your son/daughter for future career planning, DECA competitions and as leaders within DECA's ITHSA Chapter.
District Career Development Conference (Districts), December 4th + 14th
Districts is the first stage of the competition, held at Racine Case High School. Members will select a category to compete in and will provide Performance Indicators before the competition. Students complete their cluster test on December 4th (after school at Indian Trail) and two roleplays at Case on December 14th. Morning meetings and practice tests leading up to districts are required.
State Career Development Conference (State), February 24th-26th
Those who qualify for State at the Districts competition will have the opportunity to attend the state conference in Lake Geneva. In addition to roleplay and testing, students are encouraged to prepare a project. Morning meetings and practice tests leading up to state are required.
International Career Development Conference (Internationals), April 26th-29th
The International Competition is held in Orlando, Florida, and consists of over 25,000 people. ICDC is only available for those who qualify at state competitions. Fundraising is done to reduce travel costs.
