Indian Trail DECA is dedicated to helping our school community and strengthening our community as a whole. We offer many community service opportunities through out the school year for members to get involved and grow leadership and social skills. Indian Trail community service events can be submitted for KUSD service hours requirements.
School Supply Drive, August-September
Members have an opportunity to donate school supplies (folders, notebooks, pencils, markers, etc.) at meetings and in donation boxes found around the community. All school supplies donated go to KUSD students in need of them, giving more students equitable education opportunities. KUSD has a poverty rate of 57%.
DECA is partnered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and holds Miracle Minutes at all events. Miracle Minute is when DECA members run around with bags asking for donations while a one-minute timer clicks down. Indian Trail DECA hosts miracle minutes at the Homecoming football game and one home boys basketball game.
Trick Or Can, October 21st (3:30-5:20 p.m.) + 27th (2:30-5:30 p.m.)
Trick or Can is a state-wide initiative that Wisconsin DECA runs. Indian Trail DECA distributes bags and flyers to neighborhoods in Pleasant Prairie asking for non-perishable donations. On the day of trick or treating students go around and collect these products, everything is donated to the Shalom Center. Indian Trail consistently donates over 2,000 items.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national organization with a branch at Bane-Nelson in Kenosha. Sleep in Heavenly Peace uses the assistance of volunteers to build and assemble beds for children who have never had a bed.
Blanket Making is a fun and easy opportunity for members to get involved. Groups of 4 are picked and each group is provided with tie blankets. These blankets are given to those in need, holiday refreshments are provided.

A traditional Indian Trail service event, Christmas Caroling raises money for those in need (Make-A-Wish or Good Samaritan Fund) while spreading holiday cheer. Caroling is right after our meeting so dress warm.
Hosting Bingo at Azura Nursing Home is a fun way for members to interact with the community. Members either assist residents with placing bingo chips, handing out prizes, or calling out numbers.
Feed My Starving Children, March 10th
FMSC is an organization with a location in Libertyville, FMSC uses volunteers to pack food packs that are shipped to countries in need.
