Each year IVC hosts an annual Haloween party for local neighborhood children at Saint Ignatius. Activities include a haunted house, trick-or-treating, and fun games for the kids. The highlight of the fall semester, this event is made possible with the hard work and enthusism of SICP students.
Founded in 1900, Off the Street Club is Chicago’s oldest boys and girls club. Serving more than 3,000 children in Chicago’s West Garfield Park, the club provides a safe community for children who live in a neighborhood associated with higher levels of crime. Through the Third Thursday initaive, SICP students are welcome to the club once a month to be with the children of OTSC for a night of sports, play, mentorship, and fun. Simply put, Off the Street Club is a place where kids can be kids.
In a society where technology seems to continue to advance, those of the older generation often find it more difficult to manage their devices. Located at the Admiral at the Lake, the Teen Tech Connect Program provides an opportunity for SICP students to assist in technology troubleshooting in a hands-on enviormet. The program's mission is "To promote and forge friendships, connections and bonds across generations through the use of technology education and tech support."
Cards for a Cause is an opportnity to uplift the hearts of the disheartened, hospitalized, or seriously ill members of society through cardmaking. Organized by SICP students, this is an opportunity to showcase your creativity and create cards that will uplift and provide lasting joy to those in need.
