Grand Rapids Public Schools
Evaluation, Data, and Research
Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) partners with universities, foundations, and research institutions to discover practices in education that advance student achievement. Data, evaluation and research requests, however, are secondary to our goal of educating our students, and is a privilege reserved for proposals that:
Support the Academic Plan,
Avoid duplication of effort, and
Do not interfere with instruction or the efficient operation of GRPS or its schools.
The process for requesting data and performing research or evaluations at GRPS is intended to protect that primary responsibility and to give reasonable access to individuals, institutions, and organizations to conduct approved evaluation and research projects. The Office of Assessment and Evaluation (A&E) oversees the process in conjunction with the District General Counsel.
Application Deadlines
Starting July 1, 2022, GRPS revised submission and review windows for research and data requests. The new application and processing windows are presented in the table on the right.
