Flexible Instruction Day Resources

In the event of inclement weather, the Franklin Area School District may utilize Flexible Instruction Days.  Below are several websites that provide learning opportunities for students.  All of these sites are free.  We hope that you will encourage your child to visit these sites in the event of a Flexible Instruction Day.

PBS Kids  Enjoy educational games and videos from Curious George, Wild Kratts and other PBS KIDS shows! Grades K-3

Highlight Kids The place for children of all ages to play games and discover new jokes, surveys, answers to science questions, and fun crafts and recipes!

ABCya  provides over 400 fun educational games for grades PreK through 6!

Reading Rockets  is a national multimedia project that offers a wealth of research-based reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better.

Sight Words is a fantastic website that provides resources for sight words, phonemic awareness (sounds in words), and counting. There are lessons with videos, strategies for teaching, printable games, and more.

Six Games Parents... here are easy games that require minimal effort! Check them out and give one a try!

Spatulatta  is a website where kids teach kids to cook. The main goals are to foster peer-to-peer learning, healthy eating, and teaching children life skills. This site presents kids with beginning cooking tips and recipes that they can enjoy making with their families! Happy cooking!
