Major: Biological Sciences
Concentration: Integrative Biology
Minor: Chemistry & Community Action and Social Change
I chose to major in Biological Sciences and have two minors in Chemistry and Community Action and Social Change because these subjects will give me the foundation I need to apply to a master program in nursing. This career choice was sparked when I became a certified nurse assistant and discovered that I enjoyed delivering high quality patient care while also forming personal relationships with my patients. In addition, it is a career that will challenge me and continue to nourish my love of being a lifelong learner. However, before I embark on my journey to become a nurse I want to be able to expand upon my skillset and explore different work environments that will allow me to grow as a professional. Therefore, I felt this career suited my personality because I am eager and passionate about learning new things. In working with my advisors, we have explored the things I must do while attending Dominican.
These are the few experiences that I have accomplished as an undergraduate:
Conduct Research
Join Leadership Groups
Take a service Learning Class to experience the people who live within my community
Obtain my CNA certification
Work as a CNA at a Skilled Nursing Facility
