Why Become A Teacher?!
I still remember being in my 1st grade classroom and admiring my teacher. I for one, loved the idea of being able to draw on a white board. As a child that may have been the main reason why I wanted to become a teacher! As I got older I took the route of coaching junior high & high school girls basketball. I realized how much of an impact I was making on my kiddos and how important it was for them to have a role model they could rely on.
As I graduated with a degree in Psychology from Sonoma State I made my way into working at a rehab facility for teens who struggled with mental health & substance abuse issues. I first worked in a classroom then moved my way over into admissions. I finally felt as if I was moving towards my purpose in life! After going into admissions I had the realization that the classroom was my true home. After leaving Muir Wood, I took my background and experiences into my now own classroom.
My background has given me the opportunity to show students I am on their side.
