Peardeck Presentation

Peardeck is an incredibly useful assistive instructional technology. My group and I put together the interactive slide which demonstrates how to use Peardeck as well as how we each have used the app in our classrooms.

Teach Like a Champion

This presentation focused on the concept of "Threshold" and it's importance on reinforcing classroom procedure and expectations.

Threshold relates to the expectations, tone, and culture that an educator requires as students cross the "threshold" from the outside world and into their classroom doorway.

The fight for equity in schools has been a long and hard fought one which still needs fighters today. Lau v Nichols was a supreme court case regarding English Language Learner students access to materials in their primary language.

Justice William O. Douglas sums up the ruling of the case when stating, "There is no equality of treatment merely by providing students with the same facilities, textbooks, teachers, and curriculum; for students who do not understand English are effectively foreclosed from any meaningful education"
