Choosing Dominican University of California was a decision that has led to many more opportunities. Originally, I chose the university because of its small campus climate, creating intimate spaces for students and professors to form connections. The small campus size was incredibly appealing as I had grown up going to small schools, with my high school's student population being just a little bit less than that of Dominican's. In addition to the size, Dominican was also close to home, allowing me to commute from Santa Rosa. It allowed me the ability to still live at home while pursuing higher education, affording me the comforts of home and the excitement of college at the same time.
Once I came to Dominican, I knew that it was a school that suited me and my educational goals. Here I have found supportive and caring professors, with some even going out of their way to send me opportunities and resources that they believe I may be interested in. Coming to Dominican has also led me to declare my three minors in Chemistry, Global Public Health, and Community, Action, and Social Change (CASC), something that I never knew was possible before. The opportunities I have found at Dominican are ones that I know will shape me as an individual as well as prepare me for my long term goals.
