A Handy Guide To Surviving Natural Disasters
Step One: Research Natural Disasters that would be common in your area. (i.e. flooding, tornados, thunderstorms)
Step Two: Know that water is the most important thing! An average human can survive weeks without food, however, we cannot survive three days without water.
Step Three: Fill up your bathtub, sinks, anything. The community system could be polluted or shut off for weeks, you need water to survive and this can provide it to you.
Step Four: Have an emergency kit set up that can be thrown in a car or carried on your back. This should include basic survival food, water, and a first aid kit.
Step Five: Have a disaster plan in place. Call out of town contacts ahead of time and let them know -along with your family and in-town friends- a meeting place, and a central idea for what would happen if you're separated during a disaster.
