Syria

Preflection: I am making 3 small pictures of a kid from Syria named Mhameed. It will be 3 different styles: one pencil/shading, one colored pencil, and one with oil pastels. I feel pretty good with pencil and shading, but not so much with colored or pastel. Once I figure out which I like, I will spend all my time making a portrait of Mhameed's face.

As you can see, I tried all three styles and it didn't exactly go very well... But I wanted to push myself so I selected to do the colored pencil, but after 20 minutes of trying to get the correct skin color for the cheek, I realized I would never complete it in the time that I was given. So I decided that I would do the pencil drawing/shading. I knew how to do it well and I could work quickly but still have enough time to make sure everything was perfect. In conclusion, I will be doing the pencil drawing/shading

Final

I'm glad I chose to do the pencil drawing, because like I said earlier, I am much better at it than the other styles I could have done. I think am really happy with how it turned out and I really enjoyed doing this.

I hope Mhameed is really happy with it and I hope that he knows that people care about him and are with him.

I think that is what I would say to him if I had the chance. I would tell him to keep his head up and that we are there to help each other.
