Nigeria

Reflection

In this project we were given a kid from Nigeria to do a portrait of and to send to them when we were finished. I really liked this assignment especially since it was an actual kid that gets to receive the portrait I did of him. The most important aspect of this project is that a kid will be receiving this and hopefully feel loved and cared for. This might be considered worship because while doing this project we can do it for God's glory. I will know if this project is successful if my end result looks like him.

Colored Pencil

I really enjoyed doing all of these practices. I wanted a colored option so I didn't want to do pencil even though I enjoy doing pencil. I didn't enjoy doing colored pencil that much so that narrowed it down to doing pastel. I wasn't very confident with pastel but I enjoyed doing it and it allowed me to add more color.

I was a servant working during this project because I was using my talents to be a servant to Christ by doing this project for this kid.

Mudasir

I am really happy with the end result of this project. His favorite color was green and he wants to be a pilot so I thought I would include blue for the background. My favorite parts were doing the teeth and the shirt. I started with the ear and realized that I didn't like blending so I didn't blend at all. I added multiple different colors to brighten his face. I enjoyed doing this portrait of Mudasir a lot. I thought it would be challenging but I learned how to get better throughout this project. I hope that when he receives this he feels loved and is filled with joy. If I could say something to Mudasir I would tell him that I love him and that God loves him beyond measure
