3D Art

Hexagon Box

This box was took a long time to make because I had to paint around each carved out star. I am proud of it and I like the sides of the lid with holes and the paint on the edges. I was going to have the sky fade from dark to light, but that would have took too much time. If I would fix anything I would fade the trunk of the tree better. I really liked this project and it challenged me.

Pottery Wheel Art

I made 5 things on the pottery wheel, 4 of them are in this picture. It was really fun learning how to make bowls and mugs on the pottery wheel. But, I found it hard to trim the bottoms of each bowl and mug. The pottery wheel made me really think about how God says, "I am the potter and you are the clay." I molded the clay into some things that I looked pretty good, just like God is doing in every ones life. I also enjoyed the painting of them because they turned out pretty cool. Overall this project was really fun.

Foam Project- Fried Egg

For this project I decided to do a fried egg. It was fun carving it out and making all the thin curves on it. I also enjoyed painting it and trying to make it as realistic as I could. It was difficult to paint the edges a crispy color because I couldnt make the foam any thinner. I had a really fun time trying to make this egg look as realistic as I could.

Raku Vase

I had a lot of fun making this raku flower vase. The actual construction of the vase was fun. Trying to make it the perfect angles, shapes and size took a lot of time, but it was so worth it. I enjoyed making the design also and it took a lot of attempts, but I really liked it in the end. The painting was also interesting because the color that was picked wasnt going to look the same as when you put it on. I really like the colors that it turned out to be. The firing was a very cool experience and I am glad I had the chance to do it!

Personal Logo!!

For this project, we had to create a personal logo that had our initials and something about us that made it personal. I did my initials S.H. and a sun. I also painted mountains, a beach and a sunset. This project was very fun and I enjoyed it! My favorite part was either figuring out what shape I was going to do or painting it. Even though I did this at home, I enjoyed it. I missed being at school with some help from Mr. Langmaack though.
