Face Drawing

For this art piece, we practiced shading to recreate pictures of ourselves. This project was really hard for me. I really enjoyed shading me face portion and playing with the eyes and nose. Once I go to the hair is when I enjoyed it less. The texture was hard to get right and so was the coloring. Overall, I like the result from an upclose perspective.

Oil Painting

I don't like this painting. I chose a coconut because it was cute and I thought it would match any place I wanted to put it. I didn't think through all the texture a coconut has. After lots of trial and error and many layers of paint I finally got to an okay place. It's not my favorite but I couldn't figure out how else to fix it. If I did this project again I think I would pick a less textured food.

Etching Print

For this project, I chose to etch out my brothers cat Jerry. To make this I printed off a picture of him and taped it to the back of a piece of plexiglas. With a scribe I etched out all the dark areas on the plastic. This was a really fun project to do even though I had to restart. My favorite part of this project was etching the picture in and seeing him come to life. My least favorite part was printing him because it was super messy and time consuming. Overall, I really liked this project and am super proud of the end result.
