Intro to Studio Art

Nine lines project

In this project that we did we were told to take Nine lines and make them into one drawing. I drew this and I'm actually really proud of it. I had fun drawing it and it made me think outside the box a bit to draw it. Personally I think I could have done better on the little hill the trains going into but I like what I did and am content with it.

Hand drawing

On this project we were told to draw a hand holding a tool and i know I could have done better with it. I am proud of what I drew but there's so many creases and the hole on the pointer finger that it just bothers me. I could have done better on the knife and my thumb but that's it. My one major problem I do have is the shading. I'm not a huge fan of realistic looking pieces and so the shading part was a struggle for me but I got through it and did a well enough job that I'm content with it.

Painting: Luna Moth

This painting was of a Luna Moth, which is a really pretty moth. Except in this painting, in which it looks disgusting. In my own personal life I don't paint a lot so I expected this to turn out like this. But for this being one of few painting I've done, I'm actually kinda surprised.

Whistle Project: Dragon

In this project I decided to make three whistles for no other reason than I was bored and had fun. This dragon was quite fun to make with all the small details but I know I could have done better on painting on the glaze. On the other side (which you can't see) it is a little messier. Overall, I think I did quite good on the dragon.

Whistle Project: Sun & Moon

These are the other two whistle I made, which I based off of the sun and moon flutes in Pokemon. These were simpler designs and the glazing part of it was fun. I could have done better on the designs but I am content with how they look.

Jar Project: Castle & Dragon

In this project I ended up making a jar castle and a dragon to go on top of it. The dragon is detachable and could probably break into 17 different pieces if he wanted to. I really liked building the clay dragon and would probably have given him his final leg back IF HE DIDN'T DECIDE TO BREAK OFF HIS WINGS EVERY TWO SECONDS. Anyway I enjoyed building the castle and dragon.

Bowl Project: Octo-bowl

This project was really fun to do considering I was making it for a decoration at our beach house. I wanted to make and aquatic animal and so I choose the octopus for no other reason than I wanted to mess around with the design. The arms were separated into very long strands and gave a wiggle effect. I'm proud of how it glazed shiny and it was it really fun to build. Kinda dissapionted on how it cracked on the face but it was fun.

Water Color Painting - Rays

The Manta Rays I painted were very fun in the sketch phase due to it being a full black ray so I got to design a pattern for the Rays. From what I painted, I wish I had made the bigger ray lighter and more and made the smaller ray more vibrant. If I had more time to spend on the background I would have made the colors to have more than one shade. Overall I had a lot of fun painting them and I enjoyed seeing my idea come to life

Spot the Difference Book

This project was really fun for me. One of the few things I enjoy doing is photoshop and just editing photos in general. I did have a tough time editing out the rock and I’m not sure what we could have done differently. I’m really proud of the final product and hope people find it entertaining to try and spot the difference.

3D Story - 8th grade locker

During our quarantine, we were given a project to build a 3D story using random materials around the house. This was actually a lot of fun and I like the way it came out. Quarantine has been getting my creative side out so I've been more active anyways so I'm actually reasonably proud of this and can't say much bad about it. My favorite thing about building this was that I built the whole thing on a call with my church small group who was very confused and one my my best friends was painting rocks. It was great.
