Sgraffito Plate

This is my sgraffito plate. It is a sun with a border, and a mini sun in the middle. How we started this project was by rolling out a piece of clay then molding it into a plate. We then fired the plates and started to draw out and strach a design onto the plates. We scratched them out with exacto knives and then we glazed the plate with our color of choice, mine was orange like the sun. Then we glazed over it again, then we put a clear glaze over the scratched out designs so they would be shiny, then fired it one last time and we were done. I really enjoyed this project and I am happy with how it turned  out.

Realistic Foam Pizza

This is my realistic foam pizza which I carved out of a foam block. We used filing tools to file the block down and cut it to the shape we wanted it to become. We then painted the pizza to make it look as real as we could. I enjoyed this project although it was messy it was cool to make somthing that looked real. I chose a pizza because pizza is one of my many favorite foods and I thought it would be a cool item to replocate.

Raku Pot

For this Raku pot project we had to creat a pot out of clay coils, we did that and smoothed it along the way. After that we carved our design into the still wet clay, we then fired it and glazed it however we wanted. after that we went outside and put it in the kiln that gets super hot and we put it straight from there into water and sawdust to create the smokey disress cracks and lines. after that we let it cool down and cleaned it up and it was done. This was my favorite project because it's so cool and unique.

Clay Wheel

This project was also super cool because it was our first time on the pottery wheel, it thought it was going to be a lot easier than it was but none the less it was still super fun to create. We first got a peice of clay and put it on the wheel, then we center it and start building it into a bowl or mug. Here I chose a bowl, then we cleaned it up and trimed it. After that it was fired and we glazed them and this is how one of my projects turned out.
