I chose to paint this because I thought it was very cultured and had a lot of back round colors to it. This painting was done with acrylic paint. I learned to be very patient with the mixing colors and waiting for the paint to get dry so I can add more to it. This piece inspired me because it just shows a little more culture to me. To me this was important because it showed more of a Hispanic flare and I feel that you don't see that a lot, so with painting these conchas it showed diversity. The goal of this project for me was to show diversity and I feel that I achieved that goal. This is what I hoped for, I really like how it turned out. I think others will see it as diverse as well. I like all the different shades and colors. I don't see anything I don't like about this piece.

The past couple of weeks in art before we had started this project was to pick a car and draw it. I decided to go with a jeep. I really liked the look of the jeep online and how black and glossy it was so that is why I chose it. I wanted to be able to show the glossiness. I used colored pencils to do this project. I tried to create different blacks, dark and light grey and white to show that the car had different areas where light hit it and a shadow effect of where the light didn't hit. The technique I learned in this project was you had to create an image to show different textures and different colors. I learned that this car really wasn't all black to begin with, it had different shades of black and to define the glossiness on the car I had to use white. This inspired me and had meaning because I feel that if I was not taking this class and was told to just draw this jeep I would have colored it all black. I would not have created or put much thought into it. I would not have made it this realistic. For me the goal of this project was to see how close to the printed picture I could get. I feel that I have achieved that and I feel like I couldn't have done any better than what I did and I am happy it came out this way. This is what I hoped to end with and I hope others who feel that they can't do art feel that they can do it because I personally feel like I am not good at art so I hope other people feel that they can do it. I made it happen and I hope other people realize that they can do anything they put their mind to. The feature I like the most is the white glossiness. I do not like the light grey I did but I still think it looks alright. This piece will influence me and my other future artworks by thinking beyond what I think and making it the best I can do.
