For this project, we made a small clay bowl. We got to pick the shape ourselves so it would be unique, so I chose a heart. We hand made the bowl without a potery wheel. We then glazed them and then let them fire up in the kilm. Once they were done in the kilm we had to put them in a bucket with wood shavings that we had to let catch fire before we closed the lid. Once we closed the lid we waited a bit then cooled off the buckets. Then we cleaned off the ash from our bowls and got our final result. I really enjoyed this project and would do it again.
For our second project, we made clay plates and carved the design into it. I really enjoyed this project, and would 100% do it again just for the fun of it. What was really hard was making sure I made the carvings deep enough, but not too deep. I really liked the color I picked it really looks amazing overall. If I got the chance to do this project again, I would.
This was our third project. I really enjoyed it, but I would say that it was a hard project. We had to cut out 6 sides that were all the same side, and make sure they had a slight curve to them. Then we had to cut out the bottom and the top of the box and attach it all together. After it was sturdy enough we cut the lid out and attached the feet. Once all the pieces were attached and the lid was cut we then had to impress our unique design into the box. Before firing it we got to add a little decoration on the top and the side. Overall, it was a fun project that I would 100% do again if I got the chance.
