This was our second project of the semester, and it proved to be more challenging than I had anticipated. I thought it was going to be easy, since the one before we took the same 9 lines and made 9 separate pictures. We had to take 9 random lines and create a scene with them. What I like best about my final piece is how smooth my lines were. The one thing I like least about it is the background. I didn't know how I should've done it, but it still turned out amazing.Â
This was our third art project. We had to take a picture holding a tool, and then we took that picture and had to draw it but 2 times bigger. I really thought that I wasnt gonna do as good as I did. I am really happy how it turned out. During this lesson I learned how to take a picture and copy it but make it bigger. I also learned how to shade properly. I feel like now that I have accomplished this, that my future art work can be just as amazing or even better. I know now that I shouldnt doubt my skills.
This was our fifth art project, our 3rd major one, though. What we did was we took a picture we found online and printed it. We traced the picture, then painted it. I am happy, but not as happy as I could be about this project. I could have done a lot better on this project. I really enjoyed learning how to blend and develop making a landscape painting, but I am really upset on how I could have done better on it overall.
This was our sixth art project. It took about a week and a half total to complete. It required patience and creativity to accomplish. We learned to attach clay to clay properly and how to glaze. I used stamps and carved into the lid and sides myself. I am really proud of how it turned out. I wish I had made the holes a little bigger so I could see the light more. But I am okay with that. I was hesitant about how it would come out because the glaze covered up the lines when I had applied it. But luckily, when it was in the kilm the glaze melted as it should. I made sure to pick a glaze that would highlight the details and edges.
This was our seventh art project. It took a little while to complete. What we did first was make the actual whistle, and then from there we decorated it. And I decided to do Q*bert because the piece we blew into reminded me of his mouth. It took about 2-3 weeks in total to complete this project. And I'm quite proud of how it turned out. My favorite part of this project was trying to make it whistle. It took about 5ish minutes to actually accomplish it. But once I did it, I added a small hole so it can make a different sound when I cover the hole and when I don't. I really enjoyed this project and would be willing to make a clay whistle again.
This was our eighth art project. I had to make sure that I placed everything in the right spot so it would be proportional and not completely messed up. It was a challenging project because when we made it, we used a metal bowl, and we couldn't really see our design after we smoothed it out, so we had to just trust that it was good and in the right spot. I'm really proud of how it turned out, and I would be willing to make more clay bowls, even though it is time-consuming, because we had to blow-dry it before we could flip it over and take it off the metal bowl and make sure it wouldn't crack.
