For this assignment, I created a bird print using a printmaking technique to show detail, texture, and contrast. I focused on making the bird look realistic while also adding my own artistic style through patterns and shading. I carefully carved and designed the print so the feathers, wings, and background would stand out when inked and pressed onto paper.
One challenge during this project was making sure the smaller details transferred clearly in the final print. I learned how important pressure, clean lines, and planning are in printmaking. I also experimented with positive and negative space to create balance in the composition.
Overall, this assignment helped me improve my creativity, patience, and understanding of printmaking techniques. I am proud of how the final bird print turned out because it shows both texture and movement while reflecting my effort and attention to detail.
