Intro to Studio Art

This was my first project of the year. We were supposed to draw 9 pictures in the boxes, that went with the scribble lines. The techniques I learned in this project were when your coloring with colored pencil you shade it really dark instead of light. Overall, I am happy with what I accomplished in this project. Some of the boxes I drew were things I like to do, the other boxes I just drew because I knew they would work with the scribbles. My favorite box was the face in front of the window, my least favorite box is the snake on grass. Doing this project helped me with the next one, because they were really similar.

This was the second project. It was very similar to the first, except we only had to draw one big square than small 9 squares. I used the same techniques that I used for the first project, because we still used colored pencils. Overall, I think I did pretty well on this project, I think I could have added more detail to it. But the I think the colored pencil techniques were good. My favorite part of this picture is the letters on the wall. My least favorite part of this picture would be the bowling alley part, because I think I chose too dark of a color.

This was our third project. This project was called 3d story project. I liked this project a lot because, you could decorate and make it any way you wanted. You can also choose any story in your life. In this project we used techniques such as using only certain materials that were given to us, and only getting pictures from magazines. I really enjoy spending time with my dogs, so this story inspired to make a project out of it. I think I was able to tell the story well with a bunch of different elements, and include most of everything shown in the story. I wish there where better pictures in the magazine like a house they looked more similar to mine but I think overall, it was very close to what I had pictured it to be. I definitely like the dog the best because its the most accurate since I do have a golden retriever, and she was the one that ran away.

This was our 4th project. We were supposed to build a jar out of clay, then design it with colorful glaze. I liked this project the best because we could d really whatever we wanted, we could design the jar in any form and paint it with any color. On my jar a painted a blue butterfly using 4 different colored blues. Then I used the same blues on the top of the jar to make a tile pattern. And on the bottom I used a orange color and it slowly fade towards the top of the jar, like ombre. There are some spots that the glaze didn't cover so ill make sure to be extra careful next time. But overall it looks super close to what i wanted and imagined it to be.

This was our 5th project this year. In this project we were supposed to build a whistle out of clay, and turn it into a design or animal afterwards. My whistle I turned into an elephant. This project was definitely on the harder side because it took me a while to get it to whistle, but after multiple tries, I added eyes and ears and glazed it into an elephant. Its not as smooth as I would have liked it but ill remember that next time that I use clay.

This was our 6th project of the year. This I spent more time on. We first had to draw our design on the bowl with pen. Then we laid coils of clay over the lines. Then I made sure everything was smoothed out on the outside. They I left it to dry for a while, then it went in the oven. Lastly, I glazed it and put back in the oven, and that it the finished product. I really like the design I did, and I like the color I chose too.

This was our 7th project. We were supposed to take a picture of our hand and then draw it with a pencil making it look as close to the picture as possible. I was really surprised on how good it turned out, I never thought I would be able to draw something like that. I glad I took a few extra days to make it perfect and the best drawing I could do. We learned new techniques on how to shade and add value to the picture. When we did this it made the drawing look more realistic.

Our 8th and final project was the watercolor. I choose to watercolor a beta fish because it think there cute and I thought it would be fun to watercolor. Also, I used to have a beta fish but it was ugly, so I wanted to draw one with pretty colors. We also learned techniques on how to add more detail to our animals, like adding more layers to make it darker, and how to fade the color out like ombre. I also chose to do analogous colors in my watercolor painting. I really enjoyed this project because it was almost stress-relieving and got my mind off other things. The only thing I wish I could change would be the background, I think I made it too dark.
