We are drawing portraits of a kid we chose from Cambodia. We have about 3 weeks to draw this portrait. We are doing this to make the kids happy when their lives arent so great. Doing something like this brings joy into the kids lives. This project can be super impactful becuase it reminds the kids that their are other kids thinking about them and doing a small gesture like this can go a long way for the kids.
Reflection on the Cambodia art project. At the beginning of this project, I was struggling with where to start. I'm not too good when it comes to drawing faces, so I wasn't really looking forward to this one, but once I realised the project isnt for me but for my kid, it changed my mindset on the project. I started enjoying it, realising how excited they must be to receive their portrait which made me happy. FInally, watching the video at the end and seeing the smiles and how happy the kids were put me in a state of humility becuase evn though they might not have much, something as simple as a drawing of them makes them so happy.
