I loved being on the clay wheel. The first couple of days were definitely a little bit of a struggle because of the big learning curve but once I figured it out I was having so much fun. I enjoyed making bowls more than mugs but either way they are both super fun to make. If I was going to do it again I would probably try to make a taller mug just so see how the clay works regarding hight not just length.
This art project was really fun for me because I forgot you could build things out of clay not on the pottery wheel. I overall like the way it turned out, especially the way the glaze finished but I wish I spent a little more time making the shape of the pot perfect and a little bit more symetrical.
This plate was one of the harder projects because it was difficult for me to scrape out all of the shapes perfectly and make them all look uniform. If I was able to go back I would probably change the design to something with bigger but less pieces rather than a lot of little ones. My favorite part about this project though was the glaze I chose.
This box was super fun to make because we got to use clay without using the clay wheel. I also really loved getting to make my own tools to make impressions and use the ones we already had. The only thing that was really hard about this box was the very beginning when we had to assemble the sides. It was really hard to make them all line up exactly and it showed that you have to take your time when cutting the clay so it will all fit together in the end.
This project was very interesting to me simply becuase a lot of the steps got covered up by the end of the project. My favorite part of this project was figuring out what I wanted my logo to look like in the first place. Every single detail within the logo is all about me and I found it really fun to decided if there are going to be any hidden meanings or little jokes that relate to me.
