This project was very fun but hard, I think that I tried my best and intended it to show us that our hearts are vessels and God also shapes us and transforms us. This gave me a good reminder as I was doing the clay project and as much time as I had to Do it the gold flakes were time consuming, and this is the only photo I had of it . I think that sculpting the pot was fin and that it was worth it in the en to add all these small details that look like the veins of a heart. I could have finished it but I would like the grade as it is.
I think that this project was nice to do and to learn about. But, I didn't like grinding down the Glass so much. It was still a cool turn out and I am proud of it considering that it is my first time dealing with stained glass. I liked the colors that I used and I liked cutting the glass. I do think that i would change the fact that my glass isn't perfectly square or rectangle, I think I could have gone slower on the cutting and grinding part to get it more precise.
I really liked the turnout of my rose, although it was a tight squeeze to finish before finals week I am proud of how it came together. I think that it was a bit hard to figure out the leaves and attaching them to the stem, but in the end I figured it out with help. Some of my favorite things about it is the colors that I used, the purple and dark green because it give a lot of contrast to each other. I am going to give this project to a family member for Christmas because I feel like someone will like it just as much as I do.
In this project, I took my wheel throwing project from 3-D art and I focused on making beautiful vases and cups and bowls. This experience was very fun and I learned a lot of new things about how to shape clay and make them look even and good. I am so proud of how it turned out and I made and glazed them all in time to display at my house. I really like the light green and white clay pieces, those are my favorite, but the ones that look the best are the light green piece, the yellow piece, the white bowl piece, the orange mug, and small blue piece. There was definitely trial and error but thanks to langmaack I got plenty of help and advice where i needed it.
This class taught me how to ask for help. Because I really did struggle sometimes, but that's where all the growth came from. A special thank you to Langmaack for putting all the work into teaching me and helping me succeed in art. I really loved all the classes i took and I will definitely be cherishing everything I learend and all the memories we shared. I lived all the Devotions we did because he always new what to say and I felt connected to so many of the conversation topics and they really helped me in the times that I was struggling. I strive to be as close to God as Langmaack and I was grateful to be apart of the work that God is doing in him.
