Lots of Dots of Elvis

This protrait is made up of a bunch of tiny little dots, this was different than everything I have ever done before. I enjoyed it because I used colors in places I never would have thought but it was all about the bigger picture. I chose Elvis because my grandpa is a huge fan of him and always talks about how he wanted to see him in concert, so I did my best to bring Elvis to life in this portrait.

India

Preflection

I am drawing a portrait of a orphan boy from India. I am super excited to do this portrait because I know it will mean so much to the boy, I also get to put my own personal style and spin on it which I am also very excited about.

colored pencil

oil pastel

pencil

These little practices have reminded me a lot of 2D art, it was like a little speed through some of the projects I did last year. I enjoyed the little "refreshers" of the colored pencil and regular pencil. The oil pastel was a huge challenge for me; I tried over four seperate times to try and master it. There was lots of frustation and I was excited to hopefully chose that for the overall portrait. I have decided to use colored pencil, eventhough it is a little more challenging I think it is important to use color for this young boy.
