My 3D story was about me falling off of the surfboard on the 4th of July at the beach. I made this story 3D by cutting out a surfboard and human. Then making a hole shaped as a line so that the surfboard can look like it is actually moving. The hardest part about this story was making the spike ball net.
During this project I learned how to use shading and value. This piece was meaningful to me because it showed all of my different skills . The goal of this project was to make a drawing of my hand by being courageous and using value. This drawing is what I hoped for because it was my first time and I feel like I did good. The best thing I did on this drawing was the paintbrush and the worst thing that I did was my nails on my hand.
My painting is of a landscape on Lake Como, Italy. Throughout this project, I learned how to paint using only two types of brushes. I also learned how to use regular colors and blend them to create a different texture effect with the paint. This painting is not what I hoped for, but the best thing I think I did was some of the trees on the side of the painting.
I chose to make a beach theme jar, where I did the top handle yellow for the sun and a light blue for the main part. This project was fun to make because I got to try out different shapes but I didn't make the lid of the jar curved enough so that it will stay on the jar tightly.
The whistle that I chose to do was Dumbo. Overall, I enjoyed making this project but didn't like the way that the grey colored glaze came out.
On this project, I made a bowl using clay coils. Using these coils I assembled a bowl over a mold. On this project I think that I could have done more layers of the glaze but I liked the color of glaze that I chose.
For my painting I chose to paint a octopus. This assignment was difficult for me because I decided to scratch my first painting and restart halfway through. My first painting had background streaks and was very light not bold. My second painting is much better than the first because it has bolder details showing off the colors of the painting. The colors I chose to use were blue and orange which were complementary colors.
This project I chose to do a ladybug on a flower. At first I thought that this would be very easy but when I began doing it I realized that it was hard to do the white oil pastel without getting green on it. The part that I think turned out the best was the middle of the flower because it showed a lot of depth.
This project I chose to do a blue bird. I enjoyed this project being able to learn how to carve with tools and print with different colors. My least favorite part of this project was having to wash the palate, stamp and roller every time I used a new color ink. I think that my favorite part of this project was the newspaper background.
