Self Portrait

Drawing my self portrait has been one of the most difficult projects I've ever undertaken in school. Since I know exactly what I look like, any differences and faults that appeared in the photo really stood out to me. I learned how to be accurate in tracing, shade, and understand the values of lights and darks. Would I do this project again? No, but I definitely learned a lot from the one time I did do it.

Scratch Art

My favorite project by far. I had so much fun picking the animal, tracing, scrathcing, and seeing a decent finished product. I learned how to scratch in shade, it's almost the opposite, you color (scratch) the part you want to be lighter.

Watercolor

To conclude, I am not a fan of watercolor. I had a very difficult time with water getting everywhere except where I need it to be. A character building process for sure. I did learn how to watercolor better though, and did sort of come to terms with it there at the end. I learned about layering, mixing paints on the paper instead of the pallet every time, and how to mix colors.

Colored Pencil

This one went a little better. For this project I drew my small group leader's jeep to give to him as a gift. I I like drawing a part and being done with it and how your colors stay put and don't move around like watercolor might. Though I did run into a little bit of a time issue at the end, I still enjoyed this project more. I learned how to color with colored pencils in how to shade and layer and blend all the colors.
