We are going to draw pictures of children in Honduras. These kids that we are drawing are from families that don't have a lot. We hope to give them these pictures and help cheer them up and be a light of God's hand in their lives. I am excited to do this project and I am even more for the outcome of what the kids reactions are going to be. My hope is that we are able to show our christian values through our drawing and that these kids will want to know the God we know!
The most important aspect of this portrait is that we get to be able to use our God given talents of art and draw a portrait of these kids who have so little. We get to pray over these drawings and hope that when the kids get these portraits they can feel the love and cherish these pictures. I don't think that we will know if we are successful on this assignment but I think with the love and effort that we will put into the portraits God will use it in a good way that these kids will feel some kind of way and that is how I know we will be successful on this assignment.
The last four weeks we spent time learning and relearning how to color pencil using regular pencil and oil pastel. It was fun going back and refreshing how to do the normal pencil and color pencil. I kinda forgot how challenging it was and the shading and getting the right colors. Oil pastel you can just have so much fun with it and I thought it would be fun to do but my turned out way worse and I thought it would be way better. For my final project I am choosing to do color pencil because it felt the most natural for me and it definitely turned out the best.
