In front of a packed home crowd, the Clarence Red Devils delivered a dramatic 15-9 victory over Kenwest in their much-anticipated homecoming football game — the perfect way to cap off the week.
The energy in the stadium was hyped up from kickoff, amplified by the student section’s impressive participation in the “white out” theme. A sea of white filled the stands, creating a perfect atmosphere for the exciting game.
Offensively, both teams struggled to find rhythm early, neither scoring until late in the first quarter. Clarence finally got on the board when Ryan Premielewski powered through the Kenwest defense for the first touchdown of the game, giving the Red Devils a 7-0 lead. Kenwest responded on their next possession with a touchdown of their own, but a missed extra point left Clarence narrowly ahead, 7-6.
As the game wore on, nerves began to rise among fans. A series of scoreless drives kept the game tight until late in the fourth quarter, when Kenwest kicked a field goal to take a 9-7 lead.
Quarterback Nate Arnold effectively mixed pass and run plays to move the ball deep into Kenwest territory, setting up a potential game-winning opportunity. With only a few minutes left, Premielewski once again came through, scoring his second touchdown of the night to reclaim the lead. Clarence then sealed the victory with a successful two-point conversion — a pass caught by Harper McKenzie in the back of the end zone — bringing the final score to 15-9.
The win capped off a thrilling night for the Red Devils and their fans, delivering not just a hard-earned victory, but a memorable finale to a spirited Homecoming Week.
