ABOUT CLUB
AAPISC (Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Coalition)
Carrboro High School, North Carolina
Launched in the fall of the 2022-2023 school year, AAPISC aims to provide AAPI students with a safe environment to share their experiences and voices. It also serves as an inclusive environment that welcomes and involves students of all backgrounds and identities in being part of the progress toward greater inclusion and representation. Through alliance and action, AAPISC will strive to reach the three goals that were the driving force behind the coalition's establishment:
Increase discussion regarding Asian racism and Asian hate crimes.
Increase education regarding Asian history, culture, and voices.
Increase celebration of Asian history, culture, and voices-not just during AAPI Heritage Month (May), but throughout the year.
Through frequent meetings and organizing an array of events, AAPISC plans to be an active and long-lasting united front that is driven to make CHS a better place.
