Letter to me in the beginning of the Pandemic

Author: Agnesë Mustafa

Dear me,

I know that this is a hard time for you. I want you to know that everything is going to be okay, and that you do not have to be so afraid every day. Go out, take a walk. Read more, and try to somehow enjoy this “new life” in many ways that you can. I want you to know that just because some things in your life changed, it does not mean that it is the end of the world for you. I know that you have a lot of homework and assignments to do, but do not be so anxious about it, try to finish your work one day at a time. Do not worry you are going to pass all the exams, and you are going to have a nice summer.

I know that you hate not knowing what is going to happen, I know that you hate being stuck inside all day, but you know that it is necessary, and you know that sometimes you cannot control the future, but you can control your reaction towards it for your own good.

Being all day in front of the computer having online classes it’s stressful, but I promise that all this is going to pass. You should not be so afraid to meet your closest friends because of the virus. Newsflash: you are still going to get the virus, but you are going to get through it without any complications.

Do not get offended that some people do not care about social distancing, because that is just how some people are, and you need to learn to accept it. You are going to see your friends, you are going to get out to have a cup of coffee, because you will see that it is not worth it to be so afraid. You should do what is best for your mental health, and not let your emotions overwhelm you.

You will be okay. You will get through this! Just hold on to hope that things are going to get better.
