Mentimeter is a presentation tool made specifically for digital, real-time use. It is designed to be used for both in-person and online learning. Mentimeter allows you to create interactive presentations using a simple web editor without leaving your browser. Your presentation will be more engaging and entertaining if you add slides, questions, polls, quizzes, photos, GIFs, and other elements. When you give a presentation, your audience connects using their cellphones so they may participate in the discussion, offer feedback, and more. A distinctive and engaging experience is produced by the real-time visualisation of their reactions. Following your Mentimeter presentation, you can export and share your results for more in-depth study. You can also compare statistics over time to gauge the success of your audience.
There is a Free version of Mentimeter that allows educators to make presentations for an unlimited number of viewers, but there is a cap of two questions per slide and a maximum of five quiz slides overall. On the PC, Android, or iOS, students and teachers may also download. All of the aforementioned are included in the $9.99/month Basic plan, along with unlimited questions, the option to import presentations, and the ability to export results data to Excel. If you choose the Pro plan, which costs $24.99 per month, you will also be able to establish teams for collaboration with others and branding, making it better suited for corporate users.
Mentimeter is available to all staff and students. Simply use your university login details to sign in and create or access your account on the Mentimeter portal page.
Mentimeter assists in resolving the issue of repeatedly selecting the same pupils by soliciting input from the whole class. Start each class period with a poll to get everyone warmed up or to pose a crucial query. Use the quiz tool to quickly test topic understanding and use an Action Priority Matrix to decide which skills to teach first (including students in instructional planning). Hold a tournament like to March Madness where students can cast weekly votes for their preferred authors, scientists, characters, or historical people. Create a word cloud using crowdsourcing to generate ideas for novel innovations, answers to pressing issues, or attributes of notable historical figures.
