Instructional strategies refer to the structure, system, methods, techniques, procedures and processes that a teacher uses during instruction. The goal of these strategies is to assist with student learning and understanding.
Strategies can overlap in desired effect. For example, when trying to increase the amount of opportunities to respond that are given to students, he/she might also find that there is an increase checking for understanding of student learning, or when increasing the use of specific feedback in a class, the teacher may also see an increase in the ratio of positive interactions with students.
