Acadience (Com.) (Composite Score)
Acadience Reading, formerly known as DIBELS, is a formative reading assessment used for both benchmarking and progress monitoring. The Acadience Reading Benchmark is given three times during the year: fall(fa), winter(wi), spring(sp). The Benchmark consists of a composite score is an overall score composed of the individual measures administered at that time of year. The research-based measures are linked to one another and predictive of later reading proficiency. The measures are also consistent with many of the Common Core State Standards in Reading, especially the Foundational Skills. Progress monitoring occurs in-between the Benchmarks and is either given weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Lexia Core 5 Skill & L. (Lexia) Core 5 Predictor
Core5 consists of 21 levels for students up to 5th grade. Each level has a different visual theme in which the program content is presented. Levels/Locations 6-9 cover 1st grade skills. Levels/Locations 10-12 cover 2nd grade skills. Performance Predictors are a key measurement of a student’s monthly performance in Lexia Core 5. This predictor is based on student’s performance in Core5 for the past month and indicates the student’s likelihood of reaching their end-of-year, grade-level benchmark in Core5. iReady Math Diag. (Diagnosis)
The iReady Math Diagnostic is given three times during the year: fall(fa), winter(wi), spring(sp). The Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.
Diagnosis norms scores and percentiles compare student’s performance with a set of nationally representative samples of students in the same grade level who took the Diagnostic at the same time of year. For example, a student whose fall Diagnostic norm percentile is 90 scored better than 90% of a nationally representative group of students who took the Diagnostic in the fall.
