Communication skills allow a student to comprehend and express information in a variety of ways. This includes the development of receptive and expressive language skills and the ability to comprehend and express emotions.
Functional numeracy skills allow a student to comprehend and express numeracy concepts in a variety of ways. This includes the development of receptive and expressive number skills and the ability to comprehend and express these concepts.
Activities of daily living are functional skills that include grooming, personal hygiene, eating, dressing, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and participating in leisure activities. The acquisition of these skills has a profound impact on a student’s independence, participation in society, and quality of life.
This program is geared toward students developing their gross motor skills and applying them in active scenarios, both individually and in group settings. Lifelong health and community participation in sport and recreation are the main program goals.
Social skills are the skills we use everyday to interact and communicate with others. They include verbal and non-verbal communication, such as speech, gesture, facial expression and body language.
