eSKape Contemporary/Jazz Select Choir

eSKape Contemporary/Jazz Select Choir (1 credit)

Prerequisite: An audition at the end of the previous year is required for admission to the group.

This class can be taken as an Honors Credit. To enroll in the Honors version of the class, ask your teacher and fill out the related form. There will be some extra requirements in order to receive Honors credit. For more information, see our FAQs.

This class is an excellent way to hone your vocal skills and get singing practice in your schedule every week.

This class aids in the development of skills such as:

-Proper vocal technique and performance

- Musical notation and solfège.

- Sight-reading sheet music

- Part-singing

Note:

• This ensemble competes and performs regularly and publicly, in a professional capacity.
• Students are required to attend all class meetings and choral concerts, as well as all performances outside of SKHS, both during and after school hours.
• FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN: You can only audition for eSKape at the end of the previous year, not the beginning of your freshman year. Depending on the need at the high school, you may or may not be granted an audition. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Muir at rmuir@sksd-ri.net .
