Sketch and Maker rendering

2D BASIC SHAPES & RENDERING

Lesson 1 Lesson 2 Lesson 3

It was not a nice start for me this term with some missing sketching skills which I haven't practised for a long time during the holiday. This impacted my time management during the first three lessons as you can see that it took me too much time to finish many objects.

Lesson 4 (Finish work)

I choose a warm grey marker for this work because it represents a more natural light than a white background. Well, this is very rush work during the last lesson, I finish all the sketch work, fine lines, and shading in 1 hour. But I manage to make some mistakes in the sketched.

MARKER RENDERING -2D HAND HELD WHISKS

Lesson 1

Lesson 2

Hand Held Whisks Marker Rendering - All of these sketches were done for us and photocopied so we just need to marker rendering them. I start this work a bit later than others in the class because I have to finish the 2D Basic shape & Rendering work, so in the first lesson, I managed to colour only some part of the first object. I start making progress in the second and third lessons by using a soft black pencil to add more shadow detail to the object. In the fourth lesson, I have done more objects but can't finish the last two objects on the right. This reflects my ridiculously slow working speed and I need to improve.

Lesson 3

Lesson 4

KETTLE FINE LINE AND RENDERING

How we do it?

In this work, the paper already includes a blue pencil sketch which has been photocopied. This paper come with a more complicated design, which means I harder to do than the recent one.

In this work, I manage to speed up my working pace which helps me to complete all the work in time even though I did not finish the last kettle. In this work, I try to improve and experiment with using the markers to create more layer than before but I found it very difficult in some colour.

DIGITAL FINE LINE AND RENDERING KETTLE - PROCREATE

In this work, we work on the same kettle design but on Procreate. I start with fine-line all the objects first then start to render them. I tried to experiment with a Real marker brush and a Soft airbrush, which I prefer using a soft airbrush because each stokes is smooth. Then I use the same brush to do the dark shadow on each shape, but unfortunately, I ran out of time to highlight at the end.

FINAL WORK

In this work, I believed that I managed a high-quality finish after spending a lot of time on each object. Although I didn't quite manage to finish some detail, for example, background shadow and highlights. But it is still a great opportunity to improve my procreate skills in many varieties of style.

DIGITAL 3D RENDERING BASIC SHAPE - PROCREATE

After we finish 3D CAD of 2D to 3D basic shape, we came back to Procreate using a screen shot of our 3D model for accuracy line. We start using a 'Real marker brush' to render each shape. I took some time to learn the effect of shape on some shadows because in this work we changed the position of our light source. I use cold grey to render all the shape.
