Purdue Global’s Academic Success Center offers free tutoring, paper review services and other help that students may need. The use of academic assistance outside of Purdue Global is highly discouraged. Outside websites that offer tutoring, academic help, sample essays or even paper review services, are often misleading and can be predatory. Students may be lured into an outside third-party site only to find out later that using material from this site is a violation of the PG Code of Student Conduct. Faculty, staff, and administration monitor sites and the inappropriate use of such sites can result in academic consequences. View the Code of Student Conduct on academic integrity and academic dishonesty. If a site requests that you upload documents, whether your own assignments or classroom content, this should be considered a warning. Sites that require you to pay for writing or tutoring services should be avoided. Instead use Purdue Global’s Academic Success Center - your tuition gives you free access to these tutoring and paper review services. Avoid sites such as Chegg, Course Hero, Essayoption, Doresearchforme, Writinghelp247, and many others. These sites change names, domains, and ownership often. This list is not inclusive and is designed to give a general idea of the types of sites to avoid. If in doubt, please contact your course instructor or student advisor. Plagiarism Resources
Plagiarism: Using another person’s words, ideas, or results without giving proper credit to that person; giving the impression that it is the student’s own work.
Purdue Global uses Turnitin to detect plagiarism. Three official violations in a student’s academic career will result in dismissal from the University. Avoid accidental plagiarism by learning APA formatting. Visit the Writing Center Plagiarism Information Page for additional guidance, including how to review the Turnitin Report.
