Forestry Receives Grant!
A huge thanks goes to the Oregon Natural Resources Education Fund for their generous grant donation to the PHS Forestry and Natural Resources Program. PHS received the Terry Selby Grant which provided funds to purchase new equipment and fencing supplies. Students are now able to learn and get hands-on experience using a band saw and belt sander. See photos below of students in action!
We recently purchased laptops for student use during job shadows and community projects. We also offer many independent programs and hope to implement a new AP Computer Science class for the 2021 - 2022 school year.
Our Manufacturing Technology department was awarded a Mid-Valley STEM/CTE grant! Funds were used to purchase supplies for students to apply fabrication techniques such as plan interpretation and prototyping with cardboard, hot glue and other materials that are easily available.
The Culinary Arts department received a Mid-Valley STEM/CTE grant to purchase a Tower Garden. The Tower Garden provides the ability to grow produce indoors all year long that students can then use to create dishes.
The Health Occupations department recently received a Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Grant to purchase new stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs and thermometers. Sign up for a Health Occupations class to get trained on this new equipment!
