Project Description

Purpose of this project is to describe the impact of social media on society and students individually. With social media taking over in this day in age, the dramatic changes it has on each person is not to be ignored.

Addiction Quiz

After taking the quiz, I realized that I am on social media more than I expected. Results say I am very reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits than me!

Social Media Statistic

Youtube is the most commonly used platform. With constant evidence it's growing, YouTube will remain at the top for a long time. Percentage of users has almost risen 10% in 3 years. I chose this article because I feel it used the most when people are bored. When nothing is going on, it is ideal to turn on a video. To reduce the time spent on YouTube, distractioning yourself away from your phone is extremely beneficial.

Society

Social Media is impacting society as it continues to grow. With the constant time spent on social media, we are taking time away from our own lives. These things impact each person when scrolling through. In my opinion, the number one reason it affects us so much is because we see others living a great life. Through social media, there isn't a dull moment for these users, making us feel bad about ourself.

Lessons Learned

Throughout this lesson, I learned that social media impacts us in positive and negative ways. There are many benefits to social media, but I would say it comes with more risk. I also learned that statistics are being kept by every social media company and are constantly being updated. I like this because it gives us information on how people are using it.
