Science Fair Academy is completely run and organized by our president and the board, and is overseen by the 9th grade STEM teacher at Isaac Bear, Bryan Bishop. We work closely with David Glenn of NHCS to coordinate efforts to connect our students.
Please see the "Mentors" page on this website to access the google form. If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to our president.
Yes, but in order to do so you must fill out the post meeting logs which are attached on the "Mentors" page
No, previous experience is not necessary in order to be a SFA coach. Instead we ask that you keep an open mind and remain patient throughout the process. SFA does not provide intensely specific mentorship and we do not complete the projects. Mentors provide encouragement and inspiration to mentees throughout the course of their projects.
This depends on your schedule and the projects that the kids are doing. We will work with you, it is important that mentors are not overwhelmed, while students maintain quality mentorship.
Schools will choose when their students are available to be mentored, and if you are available at that time, you can go to the school to mentor (maybe through zoom this year)
The time interval for SFA mentoring typically takes about 2 months and they meet on a weekly basis, meaning it should be around 8 meetings.
