Days of the Week

To say the day of the week: thứ + [number]

"Thứ hai" = "Monday"
- NOTE: the first day of the week is Sunday NOT Monday!
  - In other words, Monday is the second day of the week (hai), tuesday the third (ba) etc.
"Thứ ba" = "Tuesday"
"Thứ tư" = "Wednesday"
- NOTE: Wednesday is NOT thứ bốn!
"Chủ nhật" = "Sunday"
- NOTE: Sunday is NOT thứ một!

Outside of Wednesday and Sunday, every other day follows thứ + [number].

To say the day of the month: ngày + [number]

To say the month of the year: tháng + [number]

To say the year of the years: năm + [number]

NOTE: năm (year) is the same as năm (five)
NOTE: when saying the year, we do NOT read it as a four digit number!
- Instead, it is read as two single digits and one two digit number
- Ie we read 2024 as 2, 0, 24 (năm hai không hai mười bốn)
"Năm một chín bốn mười năm" = "1945"
"Năm hai không sáu" = "2006"

To say the date: ngày + [number] + tháng + [number] + năm + [number]

"Hôm nay là ngày bao nhiêu?" = "what date is it today?"
- "Bao nhiêu" = how many OR how much
  - NOTE: "bao nhiêu" is only used for numbers MORE than 10
    - NOTE: "mấy" is used for numbers LESS than 10
