In my inquiry about how technology affects learning, I found many points in common between real surveys in our school and surveys carried out in all school realities of the world through surveys, interviews, research on websites and publications.
During the pandemic period, all pupils and teachers have been forced to use technology for learning. It was the only way to meet
They have become more experienced with technology
The pandemic has brought students:
💭 To isolate themselves
💭 To be unmotivated and not concentrated
💭 To be more insecure, stressed, depressed and anxious due to wi-fi problems and little autonomy due to not being close to teachers and classmates for a quarter of the pupils (25%)
💭 Difficulty in using some apps and uploading the done work
💭 Difficulty in respecting the deadline and submission of projects
Technology has become an important part for the school because it is still used even today at school for some advantages such us:
It's a tool that can't give up because it allows you to continue teaching even in the even of illness, quarantine or lockdown.
Teachers are able to reduce their work, organize personalized programs for students and make learning more engaging.
39,8% of the pupils have difficulties in organizing their work.
60,2% pupils have Wi-Fi problems.
84% of the pupils would like to improve their presentation and projects in an engaging and creative way using new tools.
"Clips" and "iMovie" are the most used apps, meanwhile Adobe Spark Post is used only by one person.
During online learning, pupils had problems with concentration and motivation. They didn't know how to organize their work and tended to postpone it. Moreover, they tended to isolate themselves with technology without self-regulating with video games and devices. Parents, were worried about the negative impact of technology and felt helpless. Many children felt less self-confident and lacked the support and help of classmates. Psychologists think that during online learning children should participate in engaging group activities with peers in order to share work and be together.

ONLINE LEARNING DIFFICULTIES (for pupils)
Younger children need their parents' support and they miss the teachers’ support when they are doing schoolwork.
The home for them is a place to play and relax, in fact, it distracts them and leads to the loss of social relationship.
DIFFICULTIES OF PRESENTATION
Pupils focus on the aesthetic instead of the content - they need to concentrate first on the content and lastly to the layout.
ENTERTAINING & HELP
Through challenging and fun activities or popular events like crazy hair day.
ADVANTAGES OF TECH
Pupils use technology quickly and are more expert to make presentations, indeed, they can also recognize which tool is the most appropriate to use.
ONLINE LEARNING:
In online learning the process of natural inquiry is difficult for little children (children who need parents’ support).
Disadvantages:
Sitting in a specific position in front of the screen affects your bones and health.
The blue light (emitted by electronic devices) impacts your eyes.
The attention split between screen and keyboard (which never happens on paper because hand, eyes and cognitive processing are coordinated).
The format of online tasks (scrolling up/down, left/right) can be disorientating.
Spending time in front of screens impacts the mental wellbeing.
Children need a face-to-face contact with teachers and classmates.
Pupils are stressed & isolated when their parents are working.
PRESENTATION OF PROJECTS
Pupils are more concentrated on the aesthetics instead of the presentation to the audience, moreover, they are anxious before the presentation.
The layout is important to capture children’s attention: the usage of colors, images, bullet points and fonts need to be cured; do not insert too many informations.
Difficulties of respecting the deadline and organize their work.
