National Art Honor Society

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. As a member of GCM's National Art Honor Society, you will become part of a distinguished group of over 33,000 art students in 2,971 chapters, with scholarship opportunities only available to NAHS members for art college, opportunity to graduate with NAHS honors, opportunities to participate in artistic endeavors throughout the school and community as well as institutions of higher education view the NAHS as a mark of accomplishment.

Students must be invited to join NAHS. Requirements for membership are: successful completion of at least one year of high school art class with an A average and a minimum B average in all current courses, consistent involvement with community service projects and attendance to NAHS events, and demonstration of academic and role model behavior.
