Today we learned GCCISD Visual Arts earned the Super Show Award from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Program!!! With this great news, we would also like to share the images of our District Finalist who were not displayed with our original slideshow!
Congratulations to the following students!!

The GCM Art Department is proud to announce that we earned two Exemplary medals and TWO Gold Seals at the 2021 State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) art competition. State VASE is the culminating event of a year of hard work and creative genius on behalf of some of the most dedicated art students in the state of Texas.
Artworks receiving a Rating IV-Exemplary at the State Event are eligible for consideration for the highest honor in VASE, the Gold Seal Award. The State VASE Jurors selected artworks that represent the goals of VASE and exemplary examples of concept, technique, craftsmanship and creativity in student artwork.
Kerliyah Andrews and Vianey Trejo both earned top honors for their artwork and was selected as Gold Seal winners, the highest achievement in VASE. Their artwork will be exhibited in a variety of venues across the state, concluding with the Gold Seal Exhibition at the annual TAEA Fall Conference.

This past Saturday 39 Patriots participated in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event. The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. We had a total of 51 entries, out of those entries we had 35 ‘Superior’ ratings and 16 ‘Excellent’ ratings. We are proud to announce that 4 students will advance to State VASE in April. Congratulations to Kerliyah Andrews, Lorelei Barboza, Kira Bryant, and Vianey Trejo.
